Chromebook Allocation by Grade Level
2-12th grade 1:1 Chromebook in a home-to-school model:
- Students are expected to bring their device to school each day for in-person classes but take it home each night for any homework or virtual instruction as needed and to be charged.
4K, 5K, 1st grade Chromebooks offered for a stay-at-home model as needed:
- Families will be offered a device to keep at home based on need for virtual model instruction or to be prepared for any virtual instruction that becomes necessary. This device is not intended to be brought to school on any days so that a student might be in-person for instruction.
Devices will be distributed to students in each instructional model in plenty of time for them to be prepared for their first classes. Communication about this process will take place once we have established the instructional model for each student.
Any families that requested devices for students in grades 4K-6 last spring will have the opportunity to return the device they were given when they new devices are ready for distribution. This will be communicated along with the process for getting the new devices.
The IT Department is here to help you. A Technology Support phone line will be posted soon to provide you with phone support and a process for requesting repairs of devices for any virtual learners.
Learning Management System: A Learning Management System is the software platform that educators will use to deliver course content to students.
- both platforms allow for parent portal access giving parents the opportunities to view their child’s learning and completion of tasks
- Both platforms allow for teachers to give feedback for learning but are NOT intended to be used as a Gradebook. All grades are to be viewed in Skyward as in the past.
