    Dear Pewaukee Parent,

I hope your summer is going well! Thank you for your support during the extended school closure due to COVID-19. As we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, I wanted to reach out to each of our families to share updates. Our hope is to have students back in person this school year; however, this will look different than in previous years. The special education department will work to complete any in-progress initial and re-evaluations that were extended due to COVID- 19. All evaluation and IEP meetings during the 2020-2021 school year will be held virtually to promote the healthy and safety of everyone in attendance. If you need additional accommodations please contact your child's case manager so they can assist you.  As always I am a phone call away.  Teams will be working with each family to adjust IEPs based on our general education service delivery model at each age group. Changes to IEPs can take place over a phone conference.  This is similar to what took place in the spring semester.  Each building will share their plans to reopen in the coming days.

This is a trying time for many families and students. If you need additional support or assistance do not hesitate to reach out. Our counselors and school psychologists are available for additional support. Student services can also help connect families to other resources available in the district and community. In addition, if you are encountering any challenges with internet connectivity, the helpline will be communicated out in the coming weeks. We will work hard to best support your child during these unprecedented times. The Student Services Department looks forward to working with you and your children.

    Sincerely,

    Anthony Strancke

    Director of Student Services
