• Food Service Procedures

    Working alongside Chartwells Food Service, Pewaukee School District intends to continue the traditional lunch experience at all four of our schools. With that in mind, there will be modifications that align with our safety mitigations. This includes the following:

     District:

    • Barriers in front of all the food and servers who will all be wearing masks 
    • Barriers in front of registers
    • Typical Menu Variety
    • Pre portioned grab-in-go elements to replace self-service
      • Supports a la carte purchases
    • Sanitation Stations 
    • Encouraging social distancing with stanchions
    • Implementation of touchless scanning of student ID (barcode) for payment at secondary schools
    • Utilize student lunch accounts for payment (reduce cash handling) whenever practical

    Examples

    Pewaukee Lake Elementary: SCHOOL PLAN SUMMARY

    • Split grade level 
    • Remain in cohorts (classes)
    • 3 classes in a lunchroom at a time 
    • Minimum contact with keypad for lunch numbers

    Horizon Elementary: SCHOOL PLAN SUMMARY

    • Split grade level
    • Hot lunch in Cafeteria, students spaced out using tables
    • One staff member will be assigned to enter codes
    • Remain in cohorts (6 per table)

    Asa Clark Middle School: SCHOOL PLAN SUMMARY

    • 3 lunch periods (~100 students) 
    • Utilize mutliple locations for lunch including Cafeteria, Large Group Instruction, and Library
    • Hot Lunch - IDs will be swiped and lunches will be pre-packaged to minimize contact

     Pewaukee High School: SCHOOL PLAN SUMMARY

    • 4 lunch periods (~110-220 students) to increase the ability to physically distance
    • Utilize mutliple locations for lunch including Cafeteria, Atrium, Common Areas adjacent to cafeteria
    • Hot Lunch - IDs will be swiped and lunches will be pre-packaged to minimize contact

     

     

    Community Food Service Option:

    The Pewaukee School District is working with our partners at Chartwells K-12 School Dining Services to support our community and provide students (18 years and younger) with school lunches at home during virtual learning.  Meals can be picked up on MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS ONLY from 11:30am to 12:30pm.  MONDAY pickup is for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday meals and WEDNESDAY PICK-UP is for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday meals.  Meals can be picked up on these two days only from 11:30am to 12:30pm.  Listed below are the pick-up locations.

    •    HIGH SCHOOL (WEST ENTRANCE)
    •    LIBERTY PARK
    •    VILLAGE PARK
    •    VALLEY FORGE PARK

    If you plan to take advantage of this opportunity, we ask that you please take time to fill out THIS FORM so we can better prepare for meals.  Also, all meals are now free for any students VIRTUAL OR IN-PERSON until December 31st.
