    MEET THE BOARD BACK TO BOE PAGE 262-366-3262 Elected: 2022 Term Expires: 2028 CONTACT: boe-bsawall@pewaukeeschools.org Board President BREN SAWALL Bren is a 17-year resident of Pewaukee. She received a degree in Nursing from Riverland Community College in Minnesota in 1994. After working as a nurse she moved into a Management role and assumed the position of Regional Nurse/Clinical Manager overseeing the building, hiring, and operations of clinics throughout several states. She furthered her education in 2013 when she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ottawa University. After that, she moved into the role of Director of Operations for Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative. Bren and her husband are also real estate investors and own multi-family properties in SE Wisconsin. Volunteering at Horizon School and other opportunities as they arise are part of her commitment to our district’s children. She has two grandchildren in the PSD, Hailey in 7th and Jay in 10th. Bren sings and has been on the Music Ministry Team @ Springcreek Church for the past 17 years. She also plays piano, loves the arts, and enjoys attending concerts and theater. She and her husband love outdoor activities, including kayaking, boating, skiing, Pickle Ball and hiking. 414-791-5511 Elected: 2023 Term Expires: 2026 CONTACT: boe-aross@pewaukeeschools.org Board Vice President ASHLEY ROSS Ashley and her family have been residents of Pewaukee since 2013. Ashley received a bachelor's degree from UW-Madison in psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University. She spent just over 10 years working in both residential and intensive outpatient programs for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders through Rogers Memorial Hospital. Ashley then transitioned into outpatient therapy where she currently works as a Licensed Professional Counselor with Lifestance Counseling in Brookfield. Ashley has also served as a member and then treasurer of the Pewaukee Junior Woman's Guild. Ashley and her husband Dan have three children in the district, Owen (’30), Isabel (’31), and Emelia (’34) who have all attended school in the district since 4K. She has been an active participant in their education by being involved as a classroom helper, volunteer, and chaperone. Ashley has also been involved in the district as a mentor in the insight program at the high school since 2019. Ashley enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, horseback riding, attending and volunteering at church, skiing, hiking, boating, and cheering her kids on in their sports. 262-695-2451 Elected: 2021 Term Expires: 2027 CONTACT: boe-snewcomer@pewaukeeschools.org Board Treasurer STACEY NEWCOMER Stacey is a 20 year resident of Pewaukee. She received a degree in Accounting from Marquette University and worked in public accounting and hospital finance before becoming a stay at home mom and busy volunteer. Stacey served as fundraising analyst and treasurer of the PTO as well as treasurer and president of the Booster Club. She has enjoyed volunteering as a math mentor and a library volunteer in the district. She also serves as a children’s leader at her Bible study. Over the years she has been involved in the District’s strategic planning process as well as various search and event committees. Stacey has served as Board treasurer since spring 2024 and finds serving on the school board to be very rewarding. She appreciates being able to support the district administration and staff in their daily work to open the door to each child’s future. Stacey and her husband Mark have watched their three children and a nephew graduate from Pewaukee School District (Adam ’18, Emily ’20, Sarah ’22, Cameron ’25). Stacey and Mark enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling and going to their cottage ‘up north’. He received his undergraduate degree from UW-Whitewater majoring in Operations Management. He has worked at Harley Davidson Motor Co. for the past 18 years, currently as a Commercial Project Manager and has held various roles in that time, spanning across Portfolio Management, Sales, Marketing, Motorcycle Customization and Design. Matt and his wife Caitlin have two children in the district, Auden (‘35) and Asher (’37). He’s an active father involved in the district as a parent volunteer at PLE and is a part of the Insight program at the high school. He’s also been involved in the Strategic Planning and Long-Range Facility Planning processes since 2022. Matt enjoys spending time outdoors, classic cars and vacationing on the beach. He also has a long time hobby of woodworking and obtained his General Contractor’s license in early 2024, with a particular interest in finish carpentry. 414-839-9704 Elected: 2002 Term Expires: 2028 CONTACT: boe-ldux@pewaukeeschools.org Board Member LARRY DUX Larry Dux was the Director of Patient Care Informatics and Process Improvement at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Community Hospital Division. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and a Diplomat of the Society for Health Systems, a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality, and a Life Fellow/CPHIMS member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. He has extensive experience in teaching and applying process improvement tools and techniques. He has served as a Wisconsin Forward Award (WFA) Examiner since 2004 and has participated in nine WFA site visits. Larry has served on the Pewaukee School District Board of Education for over 20 years and is very proud that the District received the Wisconsin Governor’s Forward Award of Excellence in 2010 and the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2013. 262-523-1644 Elected: 2023 Term Expires: 2026 CONTACT: boe-mlarson@pewaukeeschools.org Board Member MARY LARSON Mary Larson holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Mount Mary College and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University. Mary’s experience in the teaching profession includes K-12 math and science at University Lake School, math and science at Bryant Stratton and Waukesha County Technical colleges, and high school math in the Shorewood School District. Most recently, Mary deployed to the Mediterranean with the U.S. Navy as a math instructor in their College Afloat program, and, in like capacity, deployed three times to the Eastern Pacific with the U.S. Coast Guard. Mary also worked for the Wauwatosa Recreation Department as a gymnastics instructor for disabled and K-11 children; and as a gymnastics coach for the Wauwatosa West High School girls’ gymnastics team. Mary is a former executive search consultant and past president of Robert E. Larson & Associates, Inc., and a past president of the Data Processing Management Association – Milwaukee Chapter. She has been a home-owner in Pewaukee since 2009. 262-623-2847 Elected: 2024 Term Expires: 2027 CONTACT: boe-tkruger@pewaukeeschools.org Board Member TRAVIS KRUGER Travis and his family have lived in Pewaukee since 2011. Travis received his undergraduate degree from Indiana Wesleyan University with a double major in Business Administration and Marketing. He went on to get an MBA in Corporate Communication from Concordia University Wisconsin. Travis currently works as a Sales Director for Accutech Security. Travis and his wife Brittany have three children in the district. Henry ('31), Evelyn ('32), and Arthur ('37) who have all attended school at Pewaukee since 4K. Travis is active in his church, as a chaperone on field trips, a coach, and a volunteer within the district. He has also been involved in the strategic planning process at Pewaukee throughout the years. Travis enjoys spending time outdoors with his family biking, camping, fishing, and playing disc golf.

Contact Us Insight Mentorship PROGRAM VOLUNTEER How to GET INVOLVED IN VOLUNTEERING AT PEWAUKEE: 1 LEARN ABOUT OPPORTUNITIES There are many ways to get involved as a volunteer in the Pewaukee School District. Whether you are interested in helping with one-time events and short-term tasks or have availability to partner in programs that meet on a regular basis, your time and contributions matter. Pewaukee Lake and Horizon Elementary provide volunteer opportunities including a Breakfast Program Assistant, Field Trip Chaperones, Classroom Helpers, Expert Listeners, Math Mentors, Library Helper (Horizon), Lunch/Recess Supervision, Art Room Assistant and so much more! The Pewaukee High School offers the opportunity to become an Insight Mentor, sharing your profession and career experience with high school students matched with you. Learn more by contacting our District Volunteer Coordinator below. 2 FILL OUT APPLICATION Are you ready to share your time and talents to help contribute to student learning success in the Pewaukee School District? Start here by completing the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION As part of completing this application, you will be asked to consent to a criminal background check. This is a requirement and helps ensures the safety and security of student, staff, volunteers, visitors and guests. After initial approval, you will need to present your current valid driver's license or state photo identification card for a one-time scan, which takes 1-2 minutes and can be done at any of the Pewaukee school offices or District office during school/business hours. This application must be completed and approved prior to you participating in any volunteer assignment. 3 BEGIN VOLUNTEERING! After the application is processed and approved, you are eligible to volunteer for three years at any of the schools in the Pewaukee School District. We will be in contact with you via email to assign you a role at our District. When volunteering, each volunteer must sign into the front desk of the designated school they are serving at for that day. You will receive a badge that must be worn throughout your volunteer period so that staff and students can identify you. She forms strong, trusting relationships with students and families, expertly adapts instruction to support even the most challenging learners, and creates a safe, structured environment where all students can thrive. Greg Mueller BUS DRIVER Greg Mueller, a dedicated bus driver for the Pewaukee School District and proud Pewaukee Pirates fan, is known for his exemplary service and positive attitude. Whether he’s driving team buses or stepping in to help with a tough situation, Greg’s willingness to go above and beyond is unmatched. As a trusted member of the district, he earned his coach bus license to transport state-bound teams, further demonstrating his commitment. Each of our four schools is equipped with its own nursing staff, ensuring personalized care and attention. Asa Clark Middle School and Pewaukee High School share a connected health services space, though each school maintains its own contact information for ease of communication. To help us best support your student’s health needs, we encourage families to share health concerns in one of the following ways: Complete the health information section during online registration. PEWAUKEE SCHOOL DISTRICT'S 2024 - 2027 STRATEGIC PLAN FUTURE READY By June 2027, PSD will improve reading achievement across all grade levels by increasing the percentage of students meeting proficiency on AimswebPlus for grades 4K-2, the Wisconsin Forward Assessment for grades 3-8, and the ACT College and Career Readiness benchmark for grades 9-11 TEACHING AND LEARNING SUSTAINABILITY By 2027, 90% of PSD teachers will increase their understanding and application of designing learning opportunities that anticipate learner variability, so that they can effectively design curricular goals, assessments, methods, and materials to meet the needs of all students. The projects will be completed on time and within the established budget. FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS SUSTAINABILITY By June 2027, the Pewaukee School District will build sustainability measures into the Operating Budget development process to ensure the allocation of scarce resources is completed in the most effective manner. This is accomplished through a thorough review of all aspects of the operations for potential efficiencies. FUTURE READY By June of 2027, the Pewaukee School District will increase its overall number of applicants and the number of staff from racially diverse backgrounds in order to meet or exceed the percentage of students from racially diverse backgrounds. WORKFORCE ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT SUSTAINABILITY By June of 2027, the Pewaukee School District will increase the frequency and quality of communication to staff regarding benefits and compensation to improve understanding and utilization as a means for improving employee wellness, engagement and retention. FUTURE READY By 2027, Pewaukee High School and Asa Clark Middle School will migrate their Athletic and Activities webpage to the district’s new website. This includes additional features to the calendar system that showcases athletic and activity events COMMUNICATIONS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SUSTAINABILITY With the “Phase One” launch of the new district website in 2024, the department will adjust to feedback, making appropriate adjustments, additions, and expansions, ushering in “Phase Two” of our in-house website development.
