Kate Halyburton

PHS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Kate Halyburton serves as the principal’s secretary at the high school and is a valued, welcoming presence in the building. Known for her warm smile and positive attitude, Kate consistently offers support to everyone she encounters, creating an environment where students and staff feel helped and cared for. She approaches every interaction with kindness and a willingness to lend a hand, making even the busiest days feel more manageable. Her reliability, friendliness, and genuine desire to support others make her an invaluable part of the school community and someone her colleagues feel truly lucky to have.

MATH COACH

Brynn Jakubowski

Brynn Jakubowski has been a dedicated member of the Pewaukee community since 2019, first as a 3rd grade teacher and now as a Learning Coach. She consistently exemplifies outstanding support for students, staff, and the broader school community through her passion, initiative, and unwavering commitment to growth. Brynn is known for her flexibility, attentive listening, and ability to thoughtfully challenge others in positive and encouraging ways, helping colleagues develop both professionally and personally. She goes above and beyond to provide meaningful, innovative support across all content areas, always maintaining high expectations and adapting to meet evolving needs. Her dedication, collaborative spirit, and genuine care for others make her an exceptional and deserving recipient of this award.

READING INTERVENTIONIST

Christina Swanson

Christina Swanson serves as a reading interventionist at PLE and Horizon and is widely recognized as a passionate, student-centered educator and leader in literacy. She brings a deep knowledge of reading instruction to her work, supporting both students and teachers with thoughtful, research-based practices that lead to meaningful growth. Christina is known for her patience, encouragement, and ability to meet learners where they are celebrating their successes while skillfully guiding them forward at the right pace. She is equally impactful in her work with educators, coaching and co-teaching in ways that build confidence and strengthen instruction. A collaborative and trusted team member, Christina has played a key role in shaping reading intervention programs across both schools and has stepped into leadership when needed. Her dedication, expertise, and genuine care for others make a lasting difference in her school communities.

READING INTERVENTIONIST

Rachel Tombari

Rachel Tombari, reading interventionist at Asa Clark Middle School, exemplifies outstanding support through her unwavering dedication to students’ academic and emotional growth. She consistently goes above and beyond to provide meaningful reading and academic support while building strong, positive relationships that foster trust and confidence. Rachel’s ability to truly listen, understand her students, and connect with them on an individual level leads to remarkable growth that extends far beyond the classroom. She equips students with effective strategies and encouragement that inspire them to persevere and do their best. Her passion, initiative, and commitment to meeting students’ needs make her an exceptional colleague and a highly deserving recipient of this award.

LITERACY COACH

Dave Zindler

David Zindler has been a dedicated educator and coach in the Pewaukee School District since 1994, currently serving as a Learning Coach and a trusted leader in literacy. Known by colleagues as a “literacy king,” David brings deep knowledge and a research-driven approach to supporting students and staff, from one-on-one work to schoolwide literacy initiatives. What truly sets him apart, however, is who he is as a person, kind, empathetic, and consistently supportive. He meets teachers where they are, offering guidance in a judgment-free, encouraging way, and is a steady, positive presence in classrooms. Having spent over 30 years in Pewaukee, David takes pride in fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and care, making a lasting impact on both colleagues and students alike.

AWARD FINALISTS

Recognition of outstanding performance and customer service for staff working in support roles which may include school office or district office staff, bus drivers, maintenance and custodial staff, food service, and other roles.  This may include serving students, families, staff and/or members of the community.

Julie Beaudoin

PLE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Julie Beaudoin serves as the school secretary at PLE and is truly a cornerstone of the school community. As the first face many families, students, and visitors encounter, she creates an immediate sense of warmth and welcome with her kindness, patience, and genuine care for others. Julie is known for her incredible organization, attention to detail, and ability to keep the office running smoothly despite constant interruptions, always responding quickly and reliably to any need that arises. She is a trusted source of support for teachers, parents, and administrators alike—someone who always has answers and is ready to help with a positive attitude. Whether it’s offering guidance, solving problems, or simply brightening someone’s day with a small gesture like a sweet treat, Julie’s dedication and joyful spirit make her an indispensable and deeply appreciated part of the PLE community.

NETWORK SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Jackie Schoenholtz

Jackie Schoenholtz is the Network Support Technician who keeps the school’s technology running smoothly with reliability, skill, and a calm, problem-solving approach. Always ready to assist, Jackie responds quickly to any need and works thoughtfully to find effective solutions, even in challenging situations. Her dedication, expertise, and consistent support make her an invaluable part of the school community, ensuring that students, staff, and teachers can focus on learning without disruption.

PHS ATTENDANCE SECRETARY

Paula Schultz

Paula Schultz serves as the High School Attendance Secretary and has excelled in the role since making the leap from building secretary. She consistently demonstrates exceptional professionalism, compassion, and dedication, ensuring that students, families, and staff feel valued and supported. Known for her friendly, nonjudgmental, and empathetic approach, Paula greets everyone who walks through the front doors with a smile, no matter how busy or challenging her day may be. She expertly navigates the ever-changing landscape of Skyward, new pass systems, and administrative updates, and her innovative work on the new pass system, ElasticPass, continually fine-tunes it to make it easier for students, teachers, and staff, helping passing periods run like a tight, well-organized ship. Paula’s combination of kindness, attention to detail, and forward-thinking problem-solving makes her an invaluable member of the school community and a true model of outstanding service and innovation.

HORIZON - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Andrea Smith

Andrea Smith serves as the principal’s secretary at Horizon and is widely recognized for her warmth, friendliness, and unwavering dedication to the school community. She consistently goes above and beyond to support students, parents, and staff, whether assisting with daily needs, helping families navigate after-school activities, or volunteering her time for events like the book fair. Andrea approaches every interaction with patience, care, and a positive attitude, making students and families feel valued and supported. Her reliability, helpfulness, and commitment to creating a welcoming environment make her an indispensable part of Horizon, and her presence truly enhances the experience of everyone who walks through the school doors.

Debbie Wunschel

Debbie Wunschel is the high school custodian whose dedication, energy, and positive attitude make her an indispensable part of the school community. Known for her willingness to tackle any task—whether cleaning, fixing, setting up, or taking down—Deb approaches every challenge with a smile, a can-do spirit, and a contagious laugh that makes her approachable to students and staff alike. Always responsive and attentive, she handles every request, big or small, with efficiency and care, ensuring the building runs smoothly and feels welcoming. Debbie’s tireless work ethic, friendly demeanor, and commitment to excellence make her truly deserving of recognition for outstanding service.
