PHS INSIGHT'S WORLD TRANSLATIONS Course Details i Teacher Bio Students will have the opportunity to experience the world of translation and world languages, working with local and international businesses in a blended setting. Projects may include human resources materials, instruction manuals, personal documents, and/or medical translations. Students will be matched with a professional mentor. This class is taught on the Pewaukee School District Campus, but may require trips to local businesses. Professional attire is required when interacting with mentors and business partners.

PROJECTS IN MOTION On April 2nd, 2024, the Pewaukee community voted to pass a $28.5 million referendum which will primarily impact Pewaukee High School. Here, we will post continuous updates regarding design decisions, construction updates, and a behind the scenes look at the new future facilities. LEARN ABOUT THE PROJECT DESIGN SKETCH: Document Document Document PROJECT TIMELINE UPDATES Referendum Project THE PROJECT: ONE TWO THREE MAINTENANCE CTE AND ART FITNESS Projects would include A roof replacement at Pewaukee Lake (life cycle ends 2024-25) and B Horizon Elementary (life cycle ends 2025-26). HVAC C would also need to be replaced at portions of Pewaukee High School as they are original to the building. Finally, by installing D solar panels, the district will be able ot reduce the future energy costs for building operations. Flooring will be replaced at Horizon Elementary as well. Additions and renovations would occur at Pewaukee High School (PHS) to update Career and Technical Education and Art learning spaces which have not been largely touched since PHS’s construction in 1968. This would include a STEAM Innovation Hub, metals, woods, art, graphic design, engineering, fashion, and culinary. Physical Education and fitness spaces would need to be relocated A to allow for the renovation of the Career and Technical Education and Art facilities. This includes shifting the current weight room, boys locker room, storage, and classroom/office spaces south. Parking would also then need to shift south, pushing the practice field to the east. B CONSTRUCTION RENDERINGS: Referendum Timeline THE TIMELINE: FALL 2024 Site work & relocation of Lot 5 SPRING 2025 Start of construction SUMMER 2026 Completion of overall project FALL 2025 Completion of Fitness portion of project The Pewaukee School District is dedicated to responsibly managing its facilities and resources to provide students with dynamic learning experiences that prepare them for future success. Before the approval and construction on our current project, the district has undertaken a strategic process for facility planning and improvement, as outlined in the following highlights: December 12, 2022: Presentation of the Long-Range Facility Plan to the Board of Education. April 17 and May 15, 2023: Community events focused on facility and strategic planning. August 21, 2023: Engagement of Eppstein Uhen Architects and CG Schmidt for the Facility Master Plan process. October 10, 2023: Launch of a community survey regarding the facilities plan. January 15, 2024: Approval of the referendum question for the ballot by the Board of Education. April 2, 2024: Pewaukee community votes to pass the facility referendum. This timeline reflects the district's commitment to ensuring that its facilities meet the needs of both current and future students while upholding its mission to "Open the Door to Each Child’s Future." PHS INSIGHT'S TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT INTERNSHIP Course Details i Teacher Bio The Tech Support Internship is a student-run IT help desk that prepares students to provide first-line technical support to students, support staff, and teachers. Students are trained to listen, observe and assess general end-user issues. This hands-on environment gives students the opportunity to learn how to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, as well as process service tickets and inventory stock. Students will also earn a professional industry certification. Certification options may include CompTIA IT Fundamentals, Microsoft Office Specialist, Google GSuite, or Adobe Photoshop. Each student will be matched with a professional mentor. A summer boot camp is a course requirement. This course may be repeated.

CULVER'S PARTNER Kyle Soderstrom Kyle Soderstrom, along with his family and Culver’s on Grandview, has been an outstanding partner to the Pewaukee School District, generously supporting students through time, resources, and community involvement. They provide ice cream for Back-to-School events and PTO programs, helping create a fun, welcoming environment that encourages student success. Kyle and Culver’s have also supported student wellness by donating playground equipment and contributing to scholarships, including matching funds for the PLE scholarship program. QUICK LINKS: District News The Pewaukee School District Marketing and Communications Department manages district-wide communication efforts, including promoting events, news, and recognitions for all four schools. It produces two community publications, The Perspective, which reaches 15,000 homes, and manages the ParentSquare application for families, staff, and students. The department also manages social media accounts (@PewaukeeSD on Facebook and Instagram) and supports student-led initiatives like The Hook and Hook Jr. publications. In 2018, she returned to the district she grew up loving... this time as a staff member! Miranda feels deeply honored to shine a spotlight on the incredible work of the educators who once taught her, as well as celebrate the many accomplishments of students across campus. As a one-person department, she thrives in the variety her role offers and enjoys collaborating with individuals throughout the Pewaukee community. Miranda holds a Bachelors degree in Graphic Communications with a minor in Marketing from Carroll University, where she graduated in 2018. Outside of work, you’ll find her spending time with friends and family, adventuring with her golden retriever, Goose, painting murals around campus, or cheering on Wisconsin sports... especially our Pirates!

PHS INSIGHT'S SERVING OTHERS Course Details i Teacher Bio Project Highlight Students will have the opportunity to learn how to serve others in the fields of education, counseling, community agencies, and various other human services. From theory to practice, students will take college level introductory psychology and then experience firsthand the different avenues of service roles. This includes students engaging in classroom observations, clinical experiences in different human services settings, and a personalized service learning capstone project. This course is taught on the Pewaukee School District campus with various community engagement opportunities, along with guest instructors and individual mentors for students.

STUDENT SERVICES INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT PEWAUKEE LAKE HORIZON ASA CLARK MIDDLE PEWAUKEE HIGH SPECIAL EDUCATION The Pewaukee Public School District offers a continuum of services for children who qualify for special education and related services, ages 3 to 21. Each child who meets criteria for one or more of the 11 impairments described in both state and federal law, and who demonstrates a need for special education and related services, will receive a free and appropriate education to meet his or her needs as described in his or her Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This plan is developed by the IEP team which includes parents and professionals working together to meet the unique needs of each child.
