Pewaukee High School hires Kyle O’Rourke as varsity cross country coach
PEWAUKEE, WI - Pewaukee High School is proud to announce it has hired Kyle O’Rourke as its varsity cross country coach, replacing long-time coach Matt Dollins, who resigned after this past season.
O’Rourke has assisted the Pirate cross country program for the past three years. He also volunteered in the program from 2010-2013. O’Rourke grew up in Pewaukee and had legendary coaches Matt Dollins and John Kashian (Hall of Fame member) as coaches and as mentors. Under their tutelage, he has learned valuable lessons, traditions and values that go into leading a successful program like Pewaukee’s.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the Pewaukee Cross Country program and to continue the tradition of success with this dedicated group of student-athletes,” said O’Rourke. “I grew up in Pewaukee and ran at PHS, so this program means a lot to me. I am looking forward to creating more memories and making more connections with parents and students in the coming years.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Kyle as our head cross country coach," said Athletic and Activities Director Jeff Behrens. "He is an enthusiastic coach who is passionate about the sport of cross country. Those characteristics, his unwavering loyalty to PHS, and the strong relationships he has already formed make him a great fit to lead our cross country program forward.”
