Board of Education Fills Vacant Seat

Steve Dankert Replaces Long-Time Board Member Ron Frea

The Pewaukee Board of Education selected Steve Dankert August 29 out of a group of 12 applicants to fill the vacancy created following the resignation of Ron Frea, who stepped down for personal reasons in July.

Mr. Dankert is a long-time Pewaukee School District parent who has been extremely involved and supportive of the school system including regularly attending board meetings and strategic planning. He has also been a regular participant in our recent facilities master planning focus groups.

"I am truly thankful for the opportunity to serve on the PSD Board of Education," Danket said in an email to Lake Country Now. "My family and I moved to Pewaukee 17 years ago and I am thrilled to have the great fortune to live, recreate and raise my family here. I know the board interviewed several candidates for the position and I'm grateful they chose me."

Most recently, Mr. Dankert served as the chairperson of our annual meeting. He will be formally sworn in at the board’s September 10 meeting. His term will end in April.

Pewaukee School District is a public 4K-12 district offering an award-winning, future-ready education to over 3,000 students on a unique, single-campus setting. We passionately commit to our mission to open the door to each child's future.
