Attendance Reporting

Please make sure to reach out to Ms. Laffin in the attendance office at 262-695-5024 or email at laffmir@pewaukeeschools.org if your child is going to be absent or tardy to school. If you do not call or email before 8:30am then an automated attendance call will go out.

Attendance calls go out at:

8:30am for missing periods 1

11:45am for missing periods 2 & 3

5:10pm for missing periods 4-6

If you child needs to leave early for any reason, please also use the attendance information above to let Ms. Laffin know.

Attendance can be updated at any time. So if you forgot to call in and your child was marked as unexcused, just call or email and Ms. Laffin will be sure to update that.

Tardies: After a child receives 5 or more tardies (excused or unexcused) they will be issued an after school detention.

Absences: Parents are allowed to excuse their child for up to 10 days per year. Once you are close to that limit, an attendance letter will be sent home. If your child is excused from school due to illness or medical appointment, and you have received a note from a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, please send this in with your child and we will medically excuse their absence. This does NOT count against their attendance then.

2022-23 Updated Attendance Procedures:

Parents are encouraged to check their child’s attendance, which can be done in Family Access. Once logged in to Skyward you will see the “Attendance” tab on the left hand side. Click that and if your child has any absences they will be listed.

If we do not hear from you then your child will be marked absent, it will be coded as “unexcused”.  Per the district attendance policy, any student who is absent from school without an acceptable excuse (unexcused) for part or all of five (5) or more days on which school is held during a semester will be declared a “habitual truant.”  Our goal is to collaborate with you to accurately report your child's attendance.
