PHS INSIGHT'S WORLD TRANSLATIONS Course Details i Teacher Bio Students will have the opportunity to experience the world of translation and world languages, working with local and international businesses in a blended setting. Projects may include human resources materials, instruction manuals, personal documents, and/or medical translations. Students will be matched with a professional mentor. This class is taught on the Pewaukee School District Campus, but may require trips to local businesses. Professional attire is required when interacting with mentors and business partners.

Transportation service is designed to provide safe and efficiently managed routing to all areas within the district. The District provides transportation for all students grades 4K - 5th Grade regardless of their distance to school. Bus routes are posted on Skyward Family Access August 18th, 2025. PSD has also partnered with "Here Comes the Bus," an app to help track your bus throughout the year. STUDENT SERVICES INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT PEWAUKEE LAKE HORIZON ASA CLARK MIDDLE PEWAUKEE HIGH SPECIAL EDUCATION The Pewaukee Public School District offers a continuum of services for children who qualify for special education and related services, ages 3 to 21. Each child who meets criteria for one or more of the 11 impairments described in both state and federal law, and who demonstrates a need for special education and related services, will receive a free and appropriate education to meet his or her needs as described in his or her Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This plan is developed by the IEP team which includes parents and professionals working together to meet the unique needs of each child. Whether you are interested in helping with one-time events and short-term tasks or have availability to partner in programs that meet on a regular basis, your time and contributions matter. Pewaukee Lake and Horizon Elementary provide volunteer opportunities including a Breakfast Program Assistant, Field Trip Chaperones, Classroom Helpers, Expert Listeners, Math Mentors, Library Helper (Horizon), Lunch/Recess Supervision, Art Room Assistant and so much more! The Pewaukee High School offers the opportunity to become an Insight Mentor, sharing your profession and career experience with high school students matched with you. Learn more by contacting our District Volunteer Coordinator below. 2 FILL OUT APPLICATION Are you ready to share your time and talents to help contribute to student learning success in the Pewaukee School District? Start here by completing the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION As part of completing this application, you will be asked to consent to a criminal background check. This is a requirement and helps ensures the safety and security of student, staff, volunteers, visitors and guests. After initial approval, you will need to present your current valid driver's license or state photo identification card for a one-time scan, which takes 1-2 minutes and can be done at any of the Pewaukee school offices or District office during school/business hours. This application must be completed and approved prior to you participating in any volunteer assignment. 3 BEGIN VOLUNTEERING! After the application is processed and approved, you are eligible to volunteer for three years at any of the schools in the Pewaukee School District. We will be in contact with you via email to assign you a role at our District. When volunteering, each volunteer must sign into the front desk of the designated school they are serving at for that day. You will receive a badge that must be worn throughout your volunteer period so that staff and students can identify you. ANTHONY STRANCKE DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SERVICES 262-695-5077 straant@pewaukeeschools.org Anthony Strancke has served as the Director of Student Services for the Pewaukee School District since July 2013. He began his career in education in January 1999 as a special education teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), bringing a strong passion for supporting students with diverse needs. Anthony earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in December 1998, with a focus on Intellectual Disabilities. He later pursued a Master’s Degree in School Leadership from Marian University in Fond du Lac, further equipping him for leadership roles in education. During his time with MPS, Anthony served as both a coordinator of special education and an associate principal. In 2007, he joined Shorewood Public Schools, where he held a dual role as Middle School Principal and Director of Special Education until 2013. In his role at Pewaukee, Anthony continues to advocate for inclusive education, comprehensive student services with a strong emphasis on transition programming. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he and his wife, Shelly, have raised two children. He enjoys landscaping, works out daily, and loves biking with his kids.

Kate Halyburton PHS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Kate Halyburton serves as the principal’s secretary at the high school and is a valued, welcoming presence in the building. Known for her warm smile and positive attitude, Kate consistently offers support to everyone she encounters, creating an environment where students and staff feel helped and cared for. MATH COACH Brynn Jakubowski Brynn Jakubowski has been a dedicated member of the Pewaukee community since 2019, first as a 3rd grade teacher and now as a Learning Coach. Brynn is known for her flexibility, attentive listening, and ability to thoughtfully challenge others in positive and encouraging ways, helping colleagues develop both professionally and personally. READING INTERVENTIONIST Christina Swanson Christina Swanson serves as a reading interventionist at PLE and Horizon and is widely recognized as a passionate, student-centered educator and leader in literacy. She brings a deep knowledge of reading instruction to her work, supporting both students and teachers with thoughtful, research-based practices that lead to meaningful growth. Christina is known for her patience, encouragement, and ability to meet learners where they are celebrating their successes while skillfully guiding them forward at the right pace. She is equally impactful in her work with educators, coaching and co-teaching in ways that build confidence and strengthen instruction. A collaborative and trusted team member, Christina has played a key role in shaping reading intervention programs across both schools and has stepped into leadership when needed. READING INTERVENTIONIST Rachel Tombari Rachel Tombari, reading interventionist at Asa Clark Middle School, exemplifies outstanding support through her unwavering dedication to students’ academic and emotional growth. LITERACY COACH Dave Zindler David Zindler has been a dedicated educator and coach in the Pewaukee School District since 1994, currently serving as a Learning Coach and a trusted leader in literacy. Known by colleagues as a “literacy king,” David brings deep knowledge and a research-driven approach to supporting students and staff, from one-on-one work to schoolwide literacy initiatives. What truly sets him apart, however, is who he is as a person, kind, empathetic, and consistently supportive. He meets teachers where they are, offering guidance in a judgment-free, encouraging way, and is a steady, positive presence in classrooms. Having spent over 30 years in Pewaukee, David takes pride in fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and care, making a lasting impact on both colleagues and students alike. As the first face many families, students, and visitors encounter, she creates an immediate sense of warmth and welcome with her kindness, patience, and genuine care for others. Julie is known for her incredible organization, attention to detail, and ability to keep the office running smoothly despite constant interruptions, always responding quickly and reliably to any need that arises. She is a trusted source of support for teachers, parents, and administrators alike—someone who always has answers and is ready to help with a positive attitude. NETWORK SUPPORT TECHNICIAN Jackie Schoenholtz Jackie Schoenholtz is the Network Support Technician who keeps the school’s technology running smoothly with reliability, skill, and a calm, problem-solving approach. Always ready to assist, Jackie responds quickly to any need and works thoughtfully to find effective solutions, even in challenging situations. Her dedication, expertise, and consistent support make her an invaluable part of the school community, ensuring that students, staff, and teachers can focus on learning without disruption. PHS ATTENDANCE SECRETARY Paula Schultz Paula Schultz serves as the High School Attendance Secretary and has excelled in the role since making the leap from building secretary. She consistently demonstrates exceptional professionalism, compassion, and dedication, ensuring that students, families, and staff feel valued and supported. Known for her friendly, nonjudgmental, and empathetic approach, Paula greets everyone who walks through the front doors with a smile, no matter how busy or challenging her day may be. She expertly navigates the ever-changing landscape of Skyward, new pass systems, and administrative updates, and her innovative work on the new pass system, ElasticPass, continually fine-tunes it to make it easier for students, teachers, and staff, helping passing periods run like a tight, well-organized ship. HORIZON - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Andrea Smith Andrea Smith serves as the principal’s secretary at Horizon and is widely recognized for her warmth, friendliness, and unwavering dedication to the school community.
