Paul Behrens Assumes Role of Chief Information & Technology Officer at

Pewaukee School District

With more than 20 years of experience in technology leadership, Behrens steps into a newly created role supporting the district’s evolving needs.

Pewaukee, WI – The Pewaukee School District is pleased to announce Paul Behrens as its new Chief Information & Technology Officer. This newly created position is part of a District Office reconfiguration and will help support the district’s ongoing technology needs. The role partially assumes responsibilities previously held by Rachel Yurk, Chief Information and Technology Officer, and Mike Murphy, Network Engineer, both of whom are retiring after years of dedicated service to the district. Behrens officially began his role on March 30, 2026. Murphy’s final day is April 3, and Yurk will conclude her tenure on June 30.

Behrens holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Cybersecurity Technical Diploma from Nicolet College. He brings more than two decades of experience spanning network engineering, systems administration, instructional technology, and technology leadership. Most recently, he served as a Senior Network & Systems Administrator for a large healthcare organization, focusing on security, infrastructure, and enterprise systems. His background also includes serving as an Adjunct Instructor at Nicolet College, teaching technology and firefighting courses, as well as serving as Fire Chief of a rural fire department. Earlier in his career, Behrens supported K-12 schools through networking, infrastructure, and long-range technology planning.

“I’m excited to join Pewaukee School District in this role,” said Behrens. “Education technology has been an important part of my career, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to support students, staff, and the district as a whole. Pewaukee already has a strong foundation in place, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to build on that.”

Dr. Mike Cady, Superintendent of Pewaukee Schools, shared, “We are excited to welcome Paul Behrens to our team. His extensive experience and leadership in technology will be invaluable as we continue to support innovative learning environments across the district.”

Outside of work, Behrens enjoys music and DJing, cooking, and working on various DIY projects. He looks forward to becoming an active member of the Pewaukee community.

Pewaukee School District is a public 4K-12 district offering an award-winning, future-ready education to over 3,000 students on a unique, single-campus setting. We are passionately committed to our mission to open the door to each child’s future.
