David Zindler
David Zindler has been a dedicated educator and coach in the Pewaukee School District since 1994, currently serving as a Learning Coach and a trusted leader in literacy. Known by colleagues as a “literacy king,” David brings deep knowledge and a research-driven approach to supporting students and staff, from one-on-one work to schoolwide literacy initiatives. What truly sets him apart, however, is who he is as a person, kind, empathetic, and consistently supportive. He meets teachers where they are, offering guidance in a judgment-free, encouraging way, and is a steady, positive presence in classrooms. Having spent over 30 years in Pewaukee, David takes pride in fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and care, making a lasting impact on both colleagues and students alike.

Robin Wilson brings innovation to life through her hands-on approach to play-based learning. From designing classroom environments to creating materials that support student engagement, she consistently looks for ways to make learning more meaningful and accessible for young learners. Her work often extends beyond the school day, as she develops tools, props, and resources that help students actively connect with academic concepts. She fondly calls her office “Santa’s Workshop” due to the countless hours spent surrounded by sawdust. Through her leadership, the district’s 4K program has truly transformed, reflecting a thoughtful, immersive approach aligned with how young children learn best.

Nelson Brownell
Nelson Brownell is a tech ed teacher at the high school who has been a driving force behind innovation in Career and Technical Education. Known for his creativity, collaboration, and solution-focused mindset, Nelson has played a key role in transforming both the curriculum and the learning environments to better reflect real-world industry needs. From helping design and build new CTE spaces to forming strong partnerships with local businesses, he consistently creates meaningful, hands-on opportunities for students. John Gahan
ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT & CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
John Gahan serves as the Assistant Superintendent and Chief Financial Officer for the Pewaukee School District, a role he has held since February 2005. Over his more than 20 years with the district, John has been instrumental in managing major initiatives, including a successful referendum project, effective budgeting, and maximizing resources to stretch district funds while completing critical projects. Known for his careful planning, financial acumen, and commitment to the district’s long-term success, John’s leadership ensures that students, staff, and the community benefit from well-managed programs and thoughtfully executed improvements.
